Aka Fay Hauser-Price
“I love making art and I see the opportunity to make art in everything.” Because of this philosophy, Fay Hauser has worked in many artistic genres as a writer, director, actor and producer, receiving kudos, refining her skills, and growing her audience on many fronts.
In front of the camera, Fay has guest starred on “Glee,” “Akeelah and The Bee”, “The Hot Chick”, “Candyman II,” “ER,” “Ghost Whisperer,” “Without A Trace,” and “Good Times,” to name a few. She recurred in “Magnum PI” as T.C.s’ wife, “Roots II” as Carrie Barden, and “The Young and The Restless” as Selena Wiley, where she received an Outstanding Cast Emmy.
Fay has been on stage in Shakespeare’s “Twelfth Night” as Viola, and “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom” as Dussie Mae. She was in the National tour of “Purlie” plus performances with NY Shakespeare Festival and her own solo show “Jewels In The Crown.” She is preparing a new solo performance piece, “Shinning Hauslights on Prejudice Alley: A Mixed Roots Conversation” for spring 2017. She directed the concerts “I’ve Got To Be On A Stage” and “Motown, Memories & More” performed by Louis Price, former lead singer of The Temptations. The couple performed their musical journey through African American history entitled, “American Heritage in African American Word and Song,” to enthusiastic audiences at schools and colleges.
Fay just returned from North Carolina, Virginia, South Africa and Cuba where she was shooting the celebration of a 100-year-old Family Reunion with its ties to the American Revolution, the slave system, successful business, and the dismantling of Jim Crow. She is busy gathering additional interviews and footage for this groundbreaking documentary tentatively titled, “The Spirit of Bethania: Toward a Post Racist Society.”
She is also working on a feature film about the early North Carolina Coast Guard entitled “Surfmen” with Live Oak Productions
As director/writer, Fay has created short films that screened in NYC, England, South Africa, on National TV and Cruise ships. For television, Fay directed TV specials, documentaries, and series airing in syndication here and internationally.
Fay revisited her passion for music with the gospel CD, Thank You Lord,” by gospel great Vernon Oliver Price on L Price ReCords acting as a producer and background singer.
Fay Hauser-Price is a published songwriter, poet, wife and mother with an upcoming poetry book.
She is a graduate of the University of North Carolina in Psychology and Dramatic Arts, and a member of the Women’s and African American Steering Committees of the Directors Guild of America. Other membership associations include SAG/AFTRA, Actors Equity Assoc, American Society of Composers Authors and Publishers, Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, Independent Documentary Association, and the National Association of Recording Arts and Sciences.
