Chicagoan Lahmard Tate gives his all in every roll we’ve seen him in to date and doesn’t plan on changing his work ethic of excellence as an actor, voice actor, writer, and has since expanded his endeavors to add producer.
Tate started his acting career early on by guest starring, recurring, and as a series regular in multiple sitcoms, episodic, and TV movies that we’ve come to love. (NBC)Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air, Moesha, (FOX) Method & Red (FOX) Seeds of Tragedy, (ABC) The Little Richard Story, (HBO) Don King Only In America, and various indie films such as and the sci-fi thriller Sabretooth.
Tate’s unique brand of humor gained notoriety and began to attract a wider audience in mainstream films. Tate teamed up with Shawn and Marlon Wayans in the cult classic Don’t Be A Menace While Drinking Your Juice In The Hood (aka) Don’t Be A Menace, where Tate stamped an unforgettable, super-hilarious performance as Ashtray’s Dad, “Pops”, the young father raising a son older than he. Tate continued his comedic talents where he and Anthony Anderson paired up as the hilarious duo who’s characters decide to steal an ATM machine on the South side of Chicago, in the franchise film Barbershop (directed by Tim Story). Another franchise film Tate worked was “Rocky” Balboa (directed by Sylvester Stallone). Tate thereafter joined forces again with O’Shea “Ice Cube” Jackson in The Janky Promoters, as the “double talking, side dealing road manager Percy. Tate says he credits his big screen debut to the romantic drama, Jason’s Lyric.
Lahmard currently is in post production with an independent dark comedy that he produced and starred in titled, Civilian Life, due out early 2018.
Lahmard Tate has solidified a reputation as a diverse talent by emerging as a voice over actor in the hit video games Crysis (Jester), Spiderman 3 video game (multitude of voices), and a host of others. Tate has also shared his distinctive voice to various Radio Commercial Ads.
Brothers and business partners LaRon, Larenz, and Lahmard (TateMen Entertainment) along with Laurence Fishburne and Helen Sugland (Cinema Gypsy) production companies partnered up to bring fans the highly anticipated 10 part audio-drama series BRONZEVILLE within which Laurence, Larenz, and Lahmard also take on character roles.
BRONZEVILLE begins streaming early 2017.
TateMen Entertainment along with Queen Latifah’s company (Flava Unit), produced the feature crime-drama DUECES, which stars Larenz Tate as the self-entitled role.
Lahmard along with his brother’s LaRon and Larenz head a non-profit organization designed to raise awareness regarding sickle cell anemia, as well as advocating for the higher education of youth.
