Fay Hauser aka Fay Hauser-Price is a Writer, Director, Actor and Producer who grew up in Winston-Salem, NC.
In front of the camera Fay guest starred in “Shameless,” for Showtime, Jordan Peele’s YouTube series “Weird City,” the Norman Lear pilot “Guess Who Died,” “Glee,” “The Hot Chick,” “Candyman II,” “ER,” “Ghost Whisperer,” plus recurred in “Roots II” as the school teacher to 4 generations of the Alex Haley family. She was detective Selena Wiley in “The Young and The Restless,” where she received an Outstanding Cast Emmy.
In early 2020 she starred in the film “Bed and Breakfast” which is now in post-production.
Fay recurs as “Mrs. Holder,” an eccentric neighbor in the podcast “Bronzeville” with Lawrence Fishburne & Larenz Tate which streams on Apple Spotify, and everywhere podcasts are streamed.
Fay has been on stage in Shakespeare’s “Twelfth Night” as Viola, and “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom” as Dussie Mae, and the National tour of “Purlie” plus performances with NY Shakespeare Festival and her own solo show “Jewels In The Crown.”
As producer/writer/director, Fay’s last documentary “Turning Barton Elementary” recently aired on PBS as part of a series on San Bernardino CA. She was also producer/director/writer on the 35 mm short film “Where There’s Smoke…,” and director on “5150.” She won Best Experimental Short, and screened at many festivals including NBTF, Catherine Zeta Jones English Film Festival, and “BET’s Lens on Talent”.
She directed the concert “I’ve Got To Be On A Stage” plus 7 other multimedia productions for Louis Price, former lead singer of The Temptations. The couple performed their musical journey through African American history entitled, “American Heritage in Word and Song,” to enthusiastic audiences at schools and colleges.
Fay was Producer/Writer/Director on over 25 reality/documentary TV shows including international projects “Paris In Search of A Dream” and the 26 episode “Red, Hot and Cool,” plus TVOne’s Vision Award nominated series “Living With Soul.”
Fay is currently producing a North Carolina film called “Surfmen,” and a documentary of a 100-year-old family reunion tradition. In addition, Fay has a soon to be released book of her poetry and short stories.
As a songwriter she was sampled for the current song “Some People” by Jasmine Thompson and has had releases on Sister Sledge and Patrice Rushen albums as well as others.
Fay Hauser is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in Psychology & Dramatic Arts.
